Understanding the Condition
Neurodermatitis is a pruritic skin disease. In TCM it is called niupixuan (cowhide tinea) or shelingpao. It is so named because it is stubborn, hard to cure, prone to relapse, and its skin lesions resemble cowhide. This condition is often caused by excessive mental excitement, depression, and nervous dysfunction.
